Snow W.A.R.P.fare

February 24, 2015

Last weekend I went to a friend's house and we made this awesome snow fort, had a Nerf fight, and made plans for the future. The snow fort was two rooms that were fifteen to twenty feet apart, with a tunnel connecting them. It was a lot of work, and it was scary, I mean you are under about six feet of snow with just enough room to wiggle through. The darkness over whelms you and you feel like your entire world is about to implode on itself, but it doesn't and everything is okay.

I think the most fun I have in a Nerf war, is making forts. So my friend has a bar in his basement, which I chose to change into my base. I started out by grabbing lots of small pillows, and setting up sniper holes, so I could snipe him but he could not shoot back. Then I made a door way that I could use, by kicking over a foot stand and crawling out without being shoot. Last of all I put up two blankets, one on the wall behind me to stop rebound shots, and one right next to my door. My base worked perfectly, and I would not change a thing.

Well that dose it for this time.

All right stop, Collaborate and listen Ice is back with a brand new invention...

February 19, 2015

So in my home town we build an Ice Castle, out of the ice in our near by lake. The town chose a theme for it and this year it was Groovy 60's, so they made a bar, peace symbols, a Volkswagen mini van, two motorcycles, an astronaut, Apollo 13,  and a moon buggy. Plus the features they have every year, a maze, mole hole, and a castle. It was awesome.

My favorite part of the castle was the maze. It was small, but their was seaweed in the walls. this year their was a secret feature which was a hole in one of the dead ends that you had to climb up into, and then you would make it out of the maze. Their was a mole honot in the maze this year. It was realy cool to see all of the things in side of the ice, abut a thousand penny's, small minnows, and sea weed.

They did a grate job with the things from the 60's. The hands took the prize in my mind. They were big hands that my dad could sit in, they were carved in a really cool way and made me feel like I was sitting in the Ice god Arius' hands. I am not sure what it had to do with the 60's but cool any way.

Leave a comment if you want me to go back, and take a video of it. but for now...

I believe I can slide...

February 11, 2015

Today was a Ski club day, so I went skiing. I have a pretty good group, their is one person in my group who is as good as me, one who is better (not counting the instructor), two who are really good, but are scared from previous events, and four who should be in a lower group. I really like my instructor Dave, he is helpful to the kids who need help, and based what trails we off of what people were their. Today we had the good group, so we did black diamonds, and advanced blues.

Our first run was Essex, a black diamond that lead to a blue. It was my third black diamond, not counting jump trails.  It was fun, I do not under stand why they called the bottom part of Essex a black, it is really
easy. After that trail we took a drop-off onto another trail and skied down to the chair that took us up to the summit.

At the top we looked out over the beautiful mountain range. Our instructor chose to go down Upper Skyward, the second hardest trail on the mountain. The top was Icy so we either had to do another trail, or go fast, we went fast. Upper Skyward Is steep, Lower Skyward is not, Upper Skyward is 210 feat long and
is all very steep. So we did it. It was terrifying, but I am glad I did it.

VACATION(s)

February 10, 2015

So this years Spring and Summer breaks are the two the biggest trips of my life. In Spring Break, I am going out west, through Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, The Navajo nation, and Four Corners. In Summer Break, I am traveling in a sail boat to each of the British Virgin Islands.

I am so existed for spring break. I have never been out west, but I have herd about it. My parents tell me its like nothing else, red rock mountains that go above the clouds, canyons that have been carved out by rivers dust, and Arches that come up from the ground rise, go straight and fall back down into the ground. I half to admit that I am a bit overwhelmed, but that's natural.

Summer break is going to be awesome. It is a summer camp, where you spend the entire time on a sail boat, learning how to, scuba dive, sail, and how to hunt ( fish ) for your lunch, breakfast, and dinner. I would be with people my age and my level of sailing and scuba diving. Their is a ratio of 4 to 1, adults and kids, with normally ten kids on the boat. I am so existed for both trips, and can't wait to go, leave a +1 on this blog, and if you want to check out Sea Trek for your self, check out the link below the blog.

The last of us...

February 9, 2015

June 19, 2097, Three years after W.W.3

I lay awake on the cold bunker floor, and waited for the seven gun shots ( one for each sniper ) that showed that every one was in their bunker, I got up from the floor, climbed the ladder, and started my plan.

4 Days Earlier...

I stood and admired the wall, it was comprised of broken down bunkers, stray rocks, and barbed wire. It had been there all of my life, but now having been assigned the construction  job, I had finally realized how impressive it really was. 200 meters tall, going around what used to be Washington D.C., it must have taken years to build, and was starting to fall apart. My job was to repair it, or tear the bomb bunkers up from the ground, and rebuild the town. I chose the wall.

I was surprised that they chose me for that job. They told me that I had a disease that took away my memories and gave me new ones. Memories of a different life, where I grew up in a big tenement, where I had a family, where I survived the war, and then came here against my will. I was surprised that they took the risk of letting me be that close to the wall, they locked my bunker at night so I wouldn't run away, so why do that if they put me on wall construction? That I still do not know.

During my lunch break, I fell into a pool of radioactive sludge. It wasn't uncommon. The Grove (as we liked to call it) was a swamp land, that survived the nukes, so all of the water was destroyed and turned into the destructing pools of decaying things. The thing that was amazing about this time I fell was that in the green, murky, dead water I could see a light.

I swam down towards it and found a cave with man made lights, and a water lock chamber. The water lock chamber, or the W.L.C., was designed to keep parasites from entering the grove, but in this case it looked like it was being used to keep parasites in the grove. I swam for the door and was grabbed by one of the guards, pulled up from the pool, and sent to the hospital for an "inspection", which basically was a test of my mind to see if they had to "Terminate" me. It was an event which by law they had to do if anyone fell in the water.

2 Days later...

I was finally released from that prison, oh I mean "HOSPITAL". From that point on I knew that I was not crazy, I knew what I saw, that life was not mine, I had to go back to the pool, and find out what was behind that W.L.C., but first I needed to prepare for my escape, I needed, sheets, duck-tape, the key to my bunker door, a guards uniform, a hand gun, cigarettes, a barrel of radioactive waste, a match, and money. Most off the things I just said were all destroyed, or were illegal for me to have. This was going to be hard.

1 Day later...

It was easier than I had ever expected, I got every thing I needed except for the match. The match was to
light the cigarette,  but I could easily find a way to make a spark. My plan was to make a fake me out of the sheets and duct-tape, I would be under my bed and when Steve ( the guy who locked my door ) came to check on me I would say, "yup I'm here"  like I normally do wait for the seven shots, roll out from under my bed, dressed in my guards uniform grab the cigarette light it some how drop the bud on the trail of radioactive liquid I had set up, wait for it to blow up and run for the pond. Flawed plan, but it worked.
Later that night...
I lied awake on the cold bunker floor, and waited for the seven gun shots that showed that every one was in their bunker, I got up from the floor, climbed the ladder, and started my plan. It worked perfectly. No one saw as I jumped into the water, no one was there to grab me that time. I stepped into the chamber and knew I was right, the walls were made of copper, copper had been one of the resources that had been used up 30 years ago when the war ended. Which meant all that time, when they had called me crazy, I was the only one who remembered the real world.

I walked through the the cave, followed the lights, and found an elevator which had power. I stepped inside, pressed a button, and went to a under ground lab. In the lab there was a button, nothing else except the monsters that I had feared all my life, and how to create them. I pressed the button and it showed me the "waking up video" and told me the truth about how I had been a solder in the war, and how they had restarted my life, and everyone else's. And in order to keep us inside the wall, they needed to create monsters, and make it believable. Their helicopter came to pick me up three minutes later.

27 years later...

Know I'm awake, but I can't live like this knowing that there are monsters in some fake world, I have enrolled as one of the Sharp shooters in what they call The Dome. I'M GOING BACK.

February 5, 2015

Today was my first winter carnival at my school, it was insane. I walked in the school, and their were decorations everywhere, that would normally be the thing I talked about, but their was something cooler. As today's winter carnival event we went to a toboggan run. It was AWESOME, the first run I went up with a friend. It was my first run and I wanted to sit in the back, that wasn't the best choice, when you are tobogganing the best spot is the middle, at the front you get sprayed with snow, in the back you get the impact from all the bumps, but in the middle you have a shield from snow spray, and enough thickness so you don't feel the bumps as much.

The feeling of sliding at 30 mph is amazing. When you get on the sled they grab the tip and pull you on to the track. You build up speed on the hill, and when you hit the ice on the bottom, you go straight for a while, then you start to turn. Round and Round you go, until you finally stop. Then you repeat and repeat, the thrill never wares off. Then you see see your friend and you choose to go with him for a couple runs. The fun never ends.

I think that, that was awesome, but tell me what you think. Do you want me to try this again some time, or do you  have your own experience of this that you want to share with me, what ever it is leave a comment down below. But For Now...

I AM A NATURAL DISASTER...

"Jeez Ben, I don't think you are a fashionable disaster any more, I now think that you have are a pure Natural Disaster, People run when they see you coming, house's crumble in your wake, your pure Un-fashion makes you a monster in the the eyes of all people"
BEN Dupree. February 5 2015

Does anyone remember the beginning of the week blog, well it is still spirit week. Today was Fashionable Disaster day, so I went all out. It started with the common plaid and stripes, Then I said hey why not throw shorts over baggy pants, wear a hat the wrong way, and grab a Sheriff's badge and be the Un-Fashion police.

When I got to school, I saw that I was one of the only ones who was dressed up, but not the only one. I saw people with tight pants and shorts, Plaid and stripes, and one person who wore a Boston Red Socks shirt, and a Yankee's hat, but none exactly like mine. I think the "Second Best"  Un-Fashion I saw was a girl who died her hair green, put on overalls, with a bright pink glasses, and a green shirt. The best I saw was the kid with the Boston Red Socks shirt, and a Yankee's hat.

So the end is nye my friends, I think that I will be posting on my creative writing bog tomorrow, so be on a lookout for that, leave a comment down below about what I should do for next unfashionable day.

But for Now...

Smoking gun

February 3, 2015

Today I went to my first creative writing class, and it was the highlight of my day. I love, the premise of the class, write every day, no guide lines to what you write, and a small lesson at the beginning of each class. He said I can wright a joke book if I wanted to! I am going to show you what I wrote today, it was based off of a prompt that  he gave us today, which was I just can't believe that I just did that

"I just can't believe that I just did that man, I mean he was my brother in law man why would you make me kill him man?!" I asked the man who black mailed me into killing my brother

"Don't worry, it gets easier the more that you kill, I remember when I killed my sister in law, it was hard to." he replied

"DO IT MORE, NO WAY MAN, YOU HAVE NOTHING ON ME, I SAW YOU DESTROY THAT TAPE!!!"

"Yes you did, and I keep my promises THAT tape is destroyed and I am done black mailing you with that tape... but not the new tape. Not the tape of you killing your brother in law."

What am I going to do? What am I going to tell my son? My wife... I am not going to.  I picked up his gun, aimed it at his head and fired a blank. The last thing I ever saw was him shooting my son and my wife.

I love that my teacher offers this course. I am not going to be doing this every day on this blog but I am going to make a another blog called Ben's short story's where I am going to be putting stuff like this. Well go check that out, it will probably be up by Friday. Be on the look out.

My name is(n't) Callum Hunt

February 2, 2015

So today was the first day of spirit week at my school, and today's thing was dress up as a character from a book or movie, so I went as Callum Hunt. Most people reading this will not under stand who Callum Hunt is, so I will tell you. Callum Hunt is a character from the book Magisterium. The Magisterium is a school kind of like Hogwarts but much darker. The Idea of the book is, their is a human elemental ( a human who can control all elements ) who went insane and started to turn animals into dark monsters that will, a) kill any one on sight, or b) will suck out your soul. Call is the only human who has the potential to kill The Dark One, and he has this power because of his mom who saved him from The Dark One. Sound familiar.
Nice job with the pic

I wore a different version than the picture that you see before you, I just could not find a picture of Cal with is head phones on. So Cal normally wears a black or gray shirt, cam-mo pants and head phones around his neck. So that's what I wore. In his bag he keeps a knife, which I could not bring to school.

I think that Cal is a Really cool character, even if he is a rip off of Malfoy, that's right Malfoy, not Harry. leave a comment if you read the book, and tell me your favorite character.

Set Snow-ow-ow to the Fire

February 1, 2015

Today I had a camp fire with my dad, normally pretty normal and I will not comment on every fire but this was awesome. First of all it was freezing, so it was pretty hard to get going. Once it started it was big, so big that it could blow snow off the tree's. It was beautiful, it looked like it was snowing black and white snow.

It makes sense. The fire rises, creates a micro-climate, blows the snow up into the air, and then when it leaves the micro-climate, it falls down. The ash, when it gets light enough goes up with the heat and falls down once it gets out of the heat; it falls down with the snow. It makes a little snow flurry combined with ash.

That was the most awesome thing I have seen in along time. Just try and imagine it just snowing around one fire, and nowhere else. Its also something that I would not normally think of, something as hot as fire and something as cold as snow working around each other, it just seems against the laws of nature.
