Today I had a camp fire with my dad, normally pretty normal and I will not comment on every fire but this was awesome. First of all it was freezing, so it was pretty hard to get going. Once it started it was big, so big that it could blow snow off the tree's. It was beautiful, it looked like it was snowing black and white snow.
It makes sense. The fire rises, creates a micro-climate, blows the snow up into the air, and then when it leaves the micro-climate, it falls down. The ash, when it gets light enough goes up with the heat and falls down once it gets out of the heat; it falls down with the snow. It makes a little snow flurry combined with ash.
That was the most awesome thing I have seen in along time. Just try and imagine it just snowing around one fire, and nowhere else. Its also something that I would not normally think of, something as hot as fire and something as cold as snow working around each other, it just seems against the laws of nature.
Ben Sheff signing off.
